beeping noise in car

Hi guys i have a 170 cdi avantgarde 1.7 diesel with 120.000 miles!
recently a noise in the form of a BEEP has been heard in my car!

i did a search and could not find any info regarding this, has anyone got any ideas?

it seems to be getting more frequent! and maybe a little bit louder? no lights appear on the dash and everything looks ok!

Hi,

When does beep happen? Does it happen when you first start up? If it does it may be the service indicator telling you that a service is due! Just a thought!!!

Not being stupid here but my mobile beeps as it changes from mast to mast as the reception gets better. As i carry it in my pocket hard to tell the direction of the sound

I came across something similar, a friend called me over to his car as he thought the central locking was opening and closing all the time. I listened and thought it sounded like his CD changer changing discs. It wasn't the CD changer, sat in the car and noticed the noise was loudest in the rear drivers side. On checking the door pocket his son's phone was vibrating away.
