Beeps after changing beattery

After changing the battery on my 1999 C180, when I now switch off the engine, I hear five beeps. Other than that, the car runs fine. The manual only says I have to adjust the windows, which went OK. Help please !

No, but I installed a Pioneer CD/MP3 last year. Is it that ? Cheers.

It might be, certain audio units do make silly beeping noises when there turned off.

Do you have a non-MB alarm fitted? I have a Sikura, and it makes all kinds of beeping noises at me to tell me why it went off etc. It might be your MB alarm as well, if you have one.

It is a MB alarm. Just irritating, and does not affect the way the car runs. If it is the alarm, is it telling me something is wrong ?

Could be. Unfortunately, this is my first Merc and I don't know what MB alarms do or don't do in the talk to the owner category. Mine sounds like a teenager texting some days, with a different number of beeps for ultrasound, or door opening trigger events. You might have to re-arm, re-set or re-intialize something like the audio unit. I'm more at a loss than you I'm afraid.
