Benz Dealer £140 - Private Dealer £70 - How I was NEARLY rip

I guess due to the hot weather a lot of us are *FINALLY* getting around to having our air conditioning re-charged.

My advice is to ring round. Here's the prices for the same job from three different groups:

Mercedes Benz Epsom - £140.00 +VAT couldnt do the job till the End of August

Local Dealer £50 Including - Could do the Job Friday night - sounded dodgy

and the SERVICE WINNER was GP MOTORS of Epsom a small local dealer. I called him Friday morning by friday lunchtime he'd done the job for £70.00 + VAT as promised.

The car is FANTASTIC now. Its like having a different world. You get out of the car and you can really feel the heat outside.

Has anyone else found the same thing in terms of pricing?

I'm going to need the same for my car too very soon. However, finding a good dealer or aircon agent is important as there are many different types of refrigerants (many left over from CFC days) out there and filling with the wrong one will work, but not for long...
