Benz Star2000 Diagnostic Adaptor

Has anyone come across this adaptor to allow you to connect your ECU to a PC?

Yes, RS232 cable 9 pin to 9 pin, this plugs into the multiplexor, and then the 38 pin connector to the cars diags socket, you cant just plug a laptop into the car it will need a multiplexor.

If you have a couple of grand spare then thats roughly what it will cost for a system capable of talking to a mercedes. I should know I have it.

Sorry... Another thing. The DAS that is advertised on the web - is this diagnostic software that NEEDS the abovementioned multiplexor hardware? - or can it work alone on a "type in your symptoms and we give spit out a few suggestions"? I notice that Black55 often cuts and pastes what looks like a diagnostic type of blurb - see his response on this thread:

Is the DAS software associated with the star or is it stand alone?
