Right then, once and for all, what do we think is the best looking, the w123 coupe, or the w124 coupe?

I'm not on about practicality, reliability etc, just looks and style.

Hmmmm, I must admit that that w124 does look quite good, still not a w123 though! :p

Neither car is a beauty, but the C124 just edges it (perhaps I'm biased)...

The W123 is a bit high off the ground imho..

From certain angles my CE looks almost quite svelte - you've got to squint a bit though.

Aye, I was thinking that myself Dave, didn't want anyone to think I'd fixed it though!

Looking at my poor choice of pics even I'm tempted to go for the w124!

As the 123 has a better build and easier to work on, that could sway it for me, against that, the 124 gives a much better ride that the 123, I will always remember the day that I got out of the 123 and into the 124 and never missed the 123 one bit, so much smoother to drive.

You could always ask for the figures to be 'seasonally adjusted' once the poll closes :)

This is surprising...

Yes, I don't have as many miles w123 experience (and none in the CE) and I adore the comfort, smooth power and slightly over-engineered quality of the w124 coupe, but...

Surely if you were to pull up outside the smartest of venues with the cutiest cutie (of whatever gender you prefer), dressed to kill in a concours condition example of either, the w123 sitting up on its funky 70s alloys would be a major statement of f***-off cool?*

I just can't help feeling that the w124 coupe is a teeny weeny bit of a big old hippo by comparison!

*or at least in one's imagination when going to Netto in a noisy rusty old heap in your trackie bottoms with a stinking hangover...

Here is another picture of the 123 but I don't think it will improve the voting :-( I will see if I can find a better one.

No comparison, no contest, w123. The "other" one is a lump of a thing, will never be a classic MB. Front's wrong, back end's wrong, sides are wrong ... etc.
