best lubricant for window runners?

as the title says,whats the best lubricant to use for the electric windows?
ive used WD40 and its ok for a bit but its got quite sluggish again!
what dya reckon?

halfords sell a tin spray for windows its by the wd40. It a own brand and i juse it much better then wd40 as its silcone based lasts ages i've had the same can years.

agreed.

wd40 is a cleaning agent unless regularly applied. Silicone based compounds hang around a lot longer. Same for hinges.

Personally, I would avoid any stuff that has silicone in there. WD 40 would be OK but it is an oil and I would wonder how it would affect the rubber long term.

Only recently I was faced with the same issue when I cavity waxed the inside of the doors on my W210 and greased up the runners for the windows etc etc. I came up with using some liquid paraffin (mineral oil for the USA). Its clear, non toxic, will wash off the windows if you get it on, doesn't mark the "leather" on the door card and is effect as a lubricant. I brushed a little into the guide rail of the window.

Of course I won't last forever, but its cheap and you could do it reasonably often say every 4 washes or as neccessary
