Big improvement in reliability

Just to let you all know, as most of the cars on here are only here for the same reason - problems:( I though I would let you all know that since the release of the 204 C-class, I have not seen or know of, even one returning back with any fault. When compared to the first 211, this is a major feat. Hopefully this is the start of good things.

My dealer says the facelifted E class, the new S class and the new A class have all been virtually fault free.

True but the original thread was put up by a MB guy, I can believe it too as the workshops are quieter

Workshops are quieter! Less warranty work + longer service intervals = More empty spaces on the garage forecourt.

Just the value of the car drops, but the valve caps dont :D

When ever I go to MB Exeter there are alway new cars coming off the transporters

Gearbox Software Update

For info, I was waiting for an MOT at my local dealership recently when a customer told me that he was having an update to the gearbox software on his new 204. Otherwise he had no other problems and liked the car.

I have to say that I still don't think its a good idea to buy a car from the early production of a new model; better to get the initial problems over and dealt with first.

Apparently MB have sold over 100,000 of them (I assume worldwide) already - however they can't have sold many in NW England, I've yet to see one on the road (did see one in a car park a couple of weeks ago).
