big milage?? young car

i am thinking of buying an E220 cdi classic 1999
only theres huge milage on it 190,ooo miles
although the car is mint?
can i expect to get much more milage from this engine???
what problems am i likely to encounter with this
also would i need to change the timing chain???

Hi Jak

I reckon (finger in the air) you should get up to 300,000 without any problems. These things have been known to go for 1/2 million miles.

I would have a look at the timing chain and look for worn sproggets (if that's what they are called?), also look to see if there is any side ways movement. Buy a manual, it expalins how to do it. ;-)

If you get it for a good price then go for it. How much are they asking for it? Use the mileage as your bargaining tool.
