I had my hub bearing changed a few years ago By Hughes, after that the previously bone dry Diff showed weeping oil at the diff bearing.
Each year I checked the oil level and they said it was still OK. This last year no weeping at the diff??
with the first long drive planned tomorrow, I suddenly though Ooops has it weeped so much, its no long got enough oil.
Simon very kindly checked it and its full.
I guess the seal must have been kinked or wrinkled when they put the shaft back, and now after 3,000 miles its flipped back or unkinked itself and is now oil tight.
So a big relief as the job of changing the diff seal is a long expensive pig! and no damage done as it was totally full.
