Hello all

Just stumbled onto this forum as am thinking about buying a 1979 350SE on the cheap as it has a starting problem, and i was doing a bit of research

however

my question concerns my much loved 200E 124 1990. I have recently put 16" alloys with 215 rubber and when the car is fully loaded or under hard braking something is rubbing on the tyres. Any ideas as i have seen 124's with bigger wheels than that. Any where in north Kent SE London area i can take it to have it looked at.

Cheers :?

Have you got mud flaps - if so, they often rub with 215/16's What profile are the tyres?

Have a look in the wheel well for any scuffing marks...

On one of my other cars I had the same problem but only from 80km/h and up. This turned out to be the lining in the wheel arch that was loose and this would bend back onto the wheel when the wind pressure increased.
