I've recently acquired a 2001 E320 CDI Estate and it's got a few things missing such as:

First aid kit
Tool kit
spare wheel and nuts

So ........ a few questions.

1. is it a standard spare or space saver, I assume the former
2. assume special nuts are required as the alloys are longer
3. any recommendations where I can get replacements

Also, whilst I can lower the smaller of the two back seats the larger release won't budge and I don't want to damage it by forcing it - any suggestions?

Thanks in anticipation

Hi & Welcome,

First aid kit, just replace with one from Boots etc.
Tool Kit, not much in the roll other than wheel brace which is of any use
Spare Wheel - Should be a steel spare with shorter wheel bolts, a breakers yard may be the best option as once you have a steel spare you tend not to need another.
Seat backs are an issue, there have been a few threads on the subject, pls have a search.

Welcome to the forum.
If the tool kit has disappeared have you checked that you have the
locking wheel nut adaptor?
The only thing I have found useful re the toolkit is the alignment tool, very helpful when changing wheels.
I picked up a new alloy wheel on e-bay to use as a spare, they do come up fairly regularly. The same goes for the first aid kit, in fact if you do a search on e class you will see some on there now.
Your right re the shorter wheel bolts for the spare, by the time you have bought these new from Merc and replaced the steel wheel the cost will probably exceed £60.
I have a next to new steel wheel (minus tyre) and nuts to suit if you want them all I ask is that you pay the postage.

I got a spare and tyre from Dronsfields (http://www.dronsfields.com/) for £25 :)

You can get the shorter bolts (needed if its a steely) from a Merc dealer, they're only cheap. First aid kit, keep an eye on Ebay although bear in mind that some parts of the kit will have a use-by date. Personally I'd just go to Halfords and buy any old kit that fits in there, hopefully you won't ever need it :) Same for the toolkit, just get a decent long wrench (you can get telescopic ones), adjustable spanner, screwdrivers. Might be overkill but I also carry spare oil, PAS fluid, gearbox fluid, grease, deionised water, jumpleads, blanket etc, my boot is stuffed full of things :)

many thanks for the replies, they are really helpful. It's funny, I use EBAY an awful lot for other stuff like PC parts etc but never consider them for car parts .......... until now that is.

Malcolm, I'd like to take you up on that offer of the steel wheel and bolts.

I suppose it's too much to hope that you're anywhere near Worcester or somewhere between Worcester and Plymouth (don't ask!)

Let me know how much I owe you and we'll sort something out.

Thanks again

Sorry Malcolm, I can neither receive or send a personal message. There are no such options displayed in my profile, so I can't even turn the damn things on.

Have mailed the administrator and wait with baited breath.
