Hi, just getting to know my 1998 SL and found a couple of bits I will need to source (apologies for the poor descriptions).

1 - Passenger side plastic trim around the sun visor

2 - drivers side sun visor flip up / hinged part of the vanity mirror

3 - the centre arm console hydraulic lever part (just the damper part) as the arm rest does open but doesn’t spring open

Thank you for any direction towards where I can find these parts to start fixing the interior.

1. Someone does this in metal. Let me see if I can find where I got mine from. You'll need to paint them unless you want Black.
2. No longer available as far as I know. eBay for a used one.
3. eBay. About £43.
4. Don't know (mine are different).

1. Am also in need of these so shallkeep an eye out here for the answer if LK still has it.

2. If you are very lucky, not seen any about for a few years.

3. German eBay for £29. Easy job but a bit tricky, circlips try to escape.

4. Have had no luck so far in finding replacements. May consider recovering both so as to match up.

Life as a R129 owner is certainly a challenge but hopefully no pain without the gain

Would the R129 co or the SL Shop be a place to find these parts or am I looking for ‘hens teeth’?

I haven’t seen a sun visor for sale for a year or two now, the last one was £180 on fleabay.
The plastic bits are becoming brittle now.
They are nice cars to look after and lovely to drive so always worth the work keeping them in good condition.

Always worth asking the SL shop.
I mooch around the German eBay looking for Mercedes 129 and have found some bits and companies. Never had a problem dealing with them either, always excellent.

Also, the sun visor works ie the lights when I clip it in but it’s not secure as I think the the plastic hinge(s) on the lift up section are either missing or bent too much.
Wonder if it could be repaired somehow?

Which part? The clip securing the visor or the vanity mirror cover flap?
If it's the flap pop the mirror out (carefully!) and look at the hinges. They're often broken. I repaired one of mine with epoxy glue.

It’s the vanity mirror cover flap - does the unit pop out easily as there must be power to it to light the mirror up?

Yes just prises out. Be careful, the plastic will be brittle with age.
