Black leather on a silver SL 350?

Hi folks,

I am currently researching to buy a 3.7 SL 350 this coming autumn. I planned to find a silver model with black leather but all the cars I see seem to be with light grey or dark grey leather. Am I searching for a unicorn or does such an elusive vehicle/interior combination exist? Your comments much appreciated.

If any body could advise whether such a combination is available or whether I am looking for the non existent pot of gold at the end of the rainbow then I would be much obliged.

Just keep looking, autumn is a good time to buy an SL so there mat be more choice then

If you're looking for an R230 SL350, I don't think they did a black interior. I think dark-grey is the closest you'll find, see BC's post above.

Could be wrong, but I don't remember seeing any.

They definitely did a black interior on the R231 SL, but that's from 2012 onwards. I have just checked the brochure.

Thats really helpful, thank you. It seems to be that its either the pale grey or darker grey shown on your photos up until the facelift of about 2008/09? A key other differentiator seems to be whether you go for glass panoramic roof or solid.

I am assuming the glass roof holds value better.

My spec sheet says:

LEATHER - BLACK/ANTHRACITE (211A)

But it is a 2011 car (05-09-2011 = 2012 model)

They seem to be a lot more sought after, panoramic roof is a big selling point for some people when it comes to selling time. Many prospective SL owners come on here with their list of wants, and it usually seems to include Panoramic roof.

I must admit, having owned SLs with and without panoramic roof, I do rather like it, it does give a more light and airy feel to the interior. Lack of it would not be a deal breaker for me. Some R231s have "magic sky" which darkens the roof at the touch of a button. Mine has a roller blind.

My 2007 SL350 had a black interior with white piping to the seats. It was a Designo dark blue exterior so that might have widened the interior choice? I wanted a light interior but couldn't find one!
