I have a 2014 model X156 GLA. It won't be seeing the inside of any MB workshop again but will be needing some brake work later this year.
Am I correct in assuming there is an automated system for bleeding the brakes?
Can this be set up somehow within the car's systems, or does the car need to be plugged in to some external computer software?

Cars with ABS need the pump cycling with a diagnostic gizmo if any major work has been done on the brakes that has put air into the ABS block, but otherwise, the standard 2 man operation of up & down on the pedal while opening & closing the relevant bleed nipple will work. Or you can use a one man pressurised or vacuum kit.

Just a simple brake bleed , i open one nipple at a time, make sure you keep the fluid tank full . Let the old fluid drain in to a container , drain the tank once, for each brake cylinder , and then lock the nipple up. Re fill the catch tank do this for the remainding 3 cylinders , this should be fine .Start bleeding the longest away from the fill tank first
