Blisters

I've noticed on my 98 C250 TD that there seems to be blistering:-

- on the lower part of the door panel
- one of the doors this seems to have expanded and has signs of a very light rust
- in the grooves on the doors
- by the boot(saloon version)

By blistering I mean like a bubble under the paintwork

My question

What causes this?
Is this much to worry about?
Is it expensive?
How common is this?

if you have full MB dealer history, then pop it down to them - it may be free under the anti corosion warranty. If you don't, go have a chat with your friendly local bodyshop.

You have double-posted your inquiry. Never mind. The answers you'll receive from other members will confirm my original reply. Get the rust looked at ASAP. It sounds serious but early action may prevent it getting worse.
