Anyone help - I've got blocked air vents (yes, on a day like today having to drive with your windows open puts whole new meaning on convertible ) and have drip into the footwell of my Merc Benz SLK 320. I think this means I've got leaves blocking something but any ideas? The leak is more like a waterfall so will need to get someone to look at it if can't sort myself - even if anyone knows if can take too non-merc to get it sorted would help.

Take off the grill in front of the wind screen, and you will find that the air intake box has got blocked drain holes, just clean out with a soft piece of wire

So I can safely remove all the screws in the grill to get it off - just double checking as don't want to make my day any worse? ;)

Hi,
Have you had your pollen filter replaced lately?
This needing replacement could cause the Heater Vent blockage you are describing, but be careful as this 'could' be where the water is leaking into the car, place a container under the filter housing to catch any water (if any). By draining the water here you will temporary eliminate the leak, at least till it rains again.
If its the same as my W202 C Class (I think it is) once the grills are removed beneath the windscreen your job is just beginning as you then will have to remove the top of the heater housing and this has some very awkward clips to undo. It may require you to remove the wiper motor and linkage too, (I took the opportunity to grease mine up as the wiper and linkage is prone to failure on all MB with a single wiper).
The Heater Housing runs from one side of the car to the other.
Where in the UK are you?

I'm in London - and no I haven't had my pollen filter replaced either. Ho hum, sounds like another expensive trip to the garage and a lost day of business for me too.
