Today, I noticed that the 'bulb' behind the outside temp display, had blown on my S-Class - as has the front central display for the parktronic. In both cases, the display can be seen functioning in daylight - just.!

Question: Is it an easy job to replace the 'bulbs' - or is it best left to someone who knows what they are doing?

Thanks.

are you sure it's not that the rheostat is turned DOWN ? if it is a case of blown bulbs you can manhandle the instrument panel out from under the steering wheel but make sure to have the ignition off when disconnecting it otherwise you may set off the SRS warning which will necessitate a trip to the dealers to reset

The outside temp display is below the mileage/trip - dead-centre in instrument panel. The front n/s Parktronic display is dead-center near the front airvents and appears to be part of the dash. Does that help?

anyweb - the rheostat is certainly turned down - as all the rest of the display is absolutely fine and dandy.

Agreed Jez, it is easy to pull it all out and once you have you just need to replace the bulbs. All snap fit stuff so pretty easy.

TV's link seems broken at the mo but it is probably worth waiting 'till you can see the drawings.

I once did all the bulbs in a Volvo 740 Turbo dash. Just remember how you took it all apart so you can put it back - don't think you will have any problems - previous posts confirm you are not all that daft....
