Have gone from a 5s to iphone 11 (one off the offspring's hand me downs) got it to work on the W221 as the tech isn't too old on the car, type in 0000 on car and phone.

On R230 which is six years older. you have a Mercedes Bluetooth adapter under the arm rest which flashes when pressed to allow pairing with iPhone. iPhone lets me put in 0000
but no idea what to do on the car side to put the pin in. Just drops out as the car can't pair with the phone.

The 5s was paired 7/8 years ago to both cars by the middle child. As i worked out the W221. Really would like to sort the R230 as well.

Can anyone advise please ?

Go into the Comand and remove the old phones on the SL, get the iPhone to search for the Bluetooth - iirc you have to press and hold the button on the Bluetooth adapter to get it to go into pairing mode

depending on the device and its age (if u have the Merc bluetooth puck the way phone books communicate changed on later phones - 4 iterations of the Merc BT puck as they moved with the times - none are firmware upgradable) and whilst calls should be normal, the phone book may never behave correctly

as mostly eluded too by blobcat, the way phone's pair moved in 2012... from look on the device for a given phone - to the phone is always scanning for any BT device (all part of a move to spy on us...) its how your phone magically picks up "pertinent" junk as you move from shop to shop

Hello all,
Follow up on getting the R230 paired with the iPhone 11. Press the puch under armrest to get it flashing manically, Switch the Bluetooth on the phone,
it may not pick up straight away so disconnect phone bluetooth and start again pressing the Puch and connecting Bluetooth on the phone.
If the connection is made to your phone, your phone will ask for a authorisation code. 62872 is the number i put in and paired as instructed by the phone
It worked for this December 2006 R230, each command system will differ by system and age i suspect, my W221 was different.
