A quick question if I may!

Whilst giving my e-class a good wash today I noticed that the plastic thingy that covers the sill on these cars is coming away (ever so slightly) at the point where it meets the bottom of the wheel arch. Can anyone advise if there should be a clip or other means of holding this plastic sill cover in place? Looking at the drivers side there doesn't appear to be anything holding it in place yet it's firmly held! It's not really a problem, but I'm a fussy sod and it'll annoy me, so I need to get it fixed. Any suggestions?

Ta very much......

You do not say what the car is Taz,most trims are held in place by nylon studs, often the sil can rust a little and the stud no longer fits the hole,it could be that the stud is broken.

Use you VIN first 6 numbers and find your car,go to coverings.

Yes, it would have helped if I'd given a bit more detail!

It's an e-class 200 classic, late 99 model (facelift model). I don't think the problem is rust related in this instance. Basically the car's sill appears to have a long plastic cover that runs the length of the sill (it's the same colour as the rest of the bodywork). Where this cover meets the bottom of the wheel arch it's a little bit loose. If you pull the cover away slightly from the wheel arch there's a black bit of plastic visible - this black plastic bit is solidly fixed and doesn't move (I think it's directly attached the the sill). I'm not sure if a clip or something held the sill cover on to this black plastic bit but at the moment I can't figure out how it's supposed to be held. As I said, more of an annoyance really. If I can't fix it I'll just get it sorted when it goes in for it's next service.

Regards.
