Bonnet badge - Fitting and removing.

Might seem like an easy or obvious thing to most but how do you remove and fit a new bonnet badge? I just have the bit with the mb writing on it still remaining without the star but have just ordered a new 40mm full badge for fitting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Take the old bit off to see how it works. I suspect yours is slightly different from mine in that yours is in the bonnet ? Mine's in the grille and the fittings are a bit different.

a toe rag knicked mine and a replacement 16quid later sorted it out.
pop the bonnet and a large set of pliers to twist the unit so it slots outs of the bonnet.
then feed new badge through and twist again.

i can say 1 week without the star the car felt normal but once that star twinkles i know i am in a merc.

Thanks for the advice. I can see how it goes in under the bonnet but didn't want to start knocking about and damage any paintwork before i knew for sure. Anyway thanks again paresh and lnm.
