Hi all, I am replacing the bonnet insulation on my W124 and am after some advice.

I need to glue it up and obviously the temperature could exceed 140 degrees or higher under there, so want to use the correct adhesive.

Has anyone done this before and which adhesive did you use?

I would be grateful of any help.

Best regards,

Steve.

Investigate high temp silicone.similar to sealant for log burner flues.try a bit of the old material on a primed plate first.

I used Trim Fix, high temp on my 129 bonnet. It has lasted a few years so far. I used just less than one can.
