Bonnet open warning!!!! (W211) E350

Gents,

I have the "bonnet open" warning on my instrument pannel display every time I stop and pull away!!!! I have pressed down the bonnet firmly. It is an one year old car. Anyone got any Ideas ;-)

Have you tried opening fully and dropping the bonnet from say 2.5cm from the clossing point.

Can one see electronic diagrams for the bonnet control?

I have looked everywhere James for this switch, but cant find it listed.

Could be the same on my car,I meant to look for sometime back when it started comming on, then went away. I will take a look in the morning.

Hi I think you will find its a small micro switch on the off side bonnet latch, we have had a few problems with these, If you look down inside the latch you should see a thin metal strip, the switch is located under the strip, try cleaning gently with compressed air and all should be well.

I tried to find my switch over the weekend,took the grill off,no switch up front,no wires going through to the catches, I will find the thing.
