bonnet wont open

The bonet of my mercedes SLK 200 will not open,the battery is also flat.Any ideas in regards to solving problem appreciated.

Get someone to press down on the bonnet whilst you pull the lever to try and take some tension off the catches

Jack the car up, if you can access the alty from underneath then stick some cables across it assuming the battery is in the engine bay
