I Have seen that some W210 estates have booster seats for the second row of seats.

I have heard that MB will supply most spares (at a price). Does anyone know if the seat base for a normal rear seat in an estate can be interchanged for a booster type and what the cost might be ?

no idea of the cost

but the principle behind all things MB is that you can retro-fit this kind of thing if you want to. Give your local dealer a call and get a quote for the parts. It is not that much rocket science to swap the seat bases.
