Hello and welcome

I don’t think we’ve had another thread on the forum with a boot fire

Only done 66,000miles.2008. Mercedes say I quote" defect in soft top seal just underneath pump, caused water to enter vehicle and drop onto pump causing wiring loom damage." Independent DEKRA engineer says pump failure due to wear and tear but disputes water theory as the fluid he found was Hydraulic! In USA quarter of million C class Mercedes, ( manufacture 2008 -2011 year ) recalled and 30-50,000 fuses replaced due to HO Boot fires from defective 40 Amp Fuse.

Can anyone help. Unable to get freedom of information reports from Mercedes. Written to CEO Mercedes UK and MERCEDES BENZ Germany. letters hijacked by Customer assistance here and in Germany!!!
