Anyone got a source for boot liner for an '06 C220 estate. It MUST be rubber not rigid plastic. Those I've found are either plastic or the answer to the question "is it rubber not plastic" seems too complicated for people to answer with a simple, straightforward reply.

Thanks

I had the same problem with my W204, so I put the plastic shallow tray boot liner in. It is as good as the rubber one I had in my Lexus IS250 and is easily removed for access to the tools etc, under the floor of the boot. I was doubtfull at first, but it has been no problem so far.

Sorry, I missed the fact you had an estate, so there could be a difference.

I have purchased MB official part boot liners (short sill plastic) for every car I have had (2 x A Class, 1 x C Class and present vehicle) and no problems whatsoever, in fact highly recommended. You will surprised at MB's low price for this item. Parts guy had to double check price for E220CDI saloon as he could not believe it was so cheap, inc VAT.

Cleaning out milk spill this morning which has saved boot carpet yet again !! washed over with interior cleaner, rinsed, dried and popped back in - 30 min job.

My girlfriend has a Cannon car mat, which is great:

http://www.cannoncarmats.co.uk/

It requires some cutting down as they're somewhat generic, but it's easy to do and fits great.

Edit: I'm not sure this meets your needs if you need a lip, but might be useful for someone..

I'll have a look into this some more. I have the footwell carpets (Rubber but with carpet uppers) and very pleased with them.

Only reason I want rubber is that they are easier to get to underfloor areas than plastic (its not a fetish;)), especially if boot has partial load. A lip is useful but I'd forgo that to get rubber over plastic

I can see you want a rubber one but i have a http://www.formula4.co.uk/products/ProductList/C-Class-00-07/SCF4CAR/GCMECC1/PRvehicle.html
and found it very good for £24.90. it also fits straight in with no cutting

We seem to be following each other around the threads tonight.

Only concern I have about the plastic ones is that they may be a bit too 'slippy'??? I have seen those that say they have got a 'grip area' but its in the centre and my dog won't necessarily choose that bit to sit on!!!

I think the one you recommend looks the best in pictures I've seen - I'm quite tempted.

Do you think its OK for my other concern; i.e. rear of boot has a load in but you want to get to the underfloor space. Will it fold over or will that just create a big white bend mark?

To access the rear under floor storage i take out the liner but i only keep items in there that would be used on an emergency so very rarely use it. With regards to a dog we have a labrador who travels in the rear. With out a rug /blanket the boot liner is slippery the only disadvantage. Items when in the boot do not slip around and the bootliner can be taken out easy as it custom fits perfectly

If you're talking about a tailored floor mat for the floor area of an estate that is black flexible rubber, then I bought one for my W211 estate off E-Bay. It is in 2 parts so that if you have the back seat up there is one piece for the boot space, but if the seat is down there is a separate piece that covers the extra enlarged floor area. The quality is excellent, very thick but soft and flexible. The seller was Bootmatz. I bought it to protect the floor area from dirt/damage from my 2 dogs and the usual regular trips to the local dump.

This place does a lot of various boot liners, a lot are plastic but they do have a rubber one too

Boot Buddy Anti-Slip Dog Mat

Very popular with dog owners is our anti-slip mat. It is specially formed from a natural rubber to create a high friction surface, as well as a soft cushioning base for your dog to sit on.

This guarantees a safe and comfortable ride for your dog, and as your anti-slip mat can be shaken or cleaned in seconds, it saves you valuable time.

N.B. Our boot liners are very smooth (and easy to clean), so an anti-slip mat is recommended for dog owners.
