Boot Lock Jammed

My pushbutton '93 C-class boot lock won't open, key won't turn anymore, (slot is in horizontal/locked position), central locking remote has only unlocked doors for some time so I have always locked boot manually with key.
Any ideas appreciated, is it a case of drilling out the lock to open the boot.
If so whats the best way?

Might be a long shot , but a little TLC from a can of WD40 might do the trick on the lock if you have not already tried that.

I lube my locks quite freaquently as like everyone else , i use the remote to open the car and the locks are un used for ever almost...

Lock Unjammed!

Good idea Fuzzer/Jason! WD40 injected in the boot lock key slot & some TLC got it working again.
(Always worth trying the simple solutions first before taking more drastic action.)

make sure you lube your locks with the correct graphite lube or they'll start to fail sooner or later.
