Boot separator error

Hi I’m just wanting some advice please for my CLIK convertible the boot separator error keeps showing up and I was going to replace the gas struts that is there something else that could be hindering me opening and closing my roof please advise as summer is almost over here thank you

I have a CLK Mercedes and the error keeps coming up on my dashboard so I’m wondering if it is to be more likely the boot separate a switch or the gas struts. Has anyone had any experience on this please? Thank you

Hello and welcome,

The boot separator switch can benefit from a clean with contact cleaner and also check that it is actually closing correctly - it's quite easy to pull the separator down but not actuate the switch
