Good afternoon guys a few months ago my boot spolier was becoming loose so I took it off completely and refitted it with halfords double sided body trim tape! This afternoon when washing it I noticed it's coming loose again.
I thought at the time when sticking it down it didn't seam a very good stick! Even though I cleaned everything with alcohol wipes
So I'm I doing something wrong or are there better adhesive available ?

I have used the 3M doublesided tape on spoilers before with no issues.

Tiger Seal or Sikaflex will stick the proverbial to a blanket! ;)
+1 for Tiger seal. The 3M tape supplied was useless.
Uesd Tiger Seal on my E63 rear spoiler and it didn't budge.

If the spoiler is a good fit Sikaflex or Tigerseal is a good solution unless you need to remove it in the foreseeable future. Also quite surprising how far into the house a tiny dab will go on clothes, shoes and parts of your body you cannot see!

Afterthought, Tigerseal is usually cheaper and a one shot solution. Sikaflex comes in many grades, one I bought would happily seal a window in the rain on a trawler out at sea.

Stuck my rear spoiler on my C207 with 19mm 3M VHB tape. Cleaned first with isopropyl alcohol, both spoiler and boot. The same with the top of window/roof spoiler.
They've been on about 4 years and believe me they ain't going anywhere! :)

Not all double-sided tape sold as 3M is the genuine article. Quite a long time ago, I bought a rear spoiler for my then C250 Coupe from an eBay seller in Taiwan. The supposedly 3M tape supplied with it looked suspicious, so I had it checked. It was instantly dismissed as fake by a genuine 3M supplier, he told me he'd come across a lot of fake stuff, all from the far east. I stuck that spoiler on with the genuine product, and it became a part of the car, that spoiler was never going to come off. I complained to eBay about the fake tape, but we all know how effective any complaint of that kind was goint to be, eBay have so many fake suppliers that they probably outnumber the genuine ones., their business survives on them.

Make sure it's genuine 3M VHB tape, then. Simple's. I got mine off fleabay and was fine, the spoiler ain't going nowhere. Don't use the tape that comes with the spoiler.
