Hope somebody out there can help,i've got a 1999 c240 and from this morning can't get into the boot. It won't open by pressing the boot unlock on the key or by pressing the boot lock, the remote opening in the car is not working either but the red light is stopping on all the time any ideas?

C250TDS 1997 Had boot lock problems recently. If only using remote opening then lock is probably siezed solid. I had to use a well-aimed chisel to break the lock. New lock fitted (£400+) and smothered in Teflon oil. A patch of silver duct tape fitted over the new lock for added weather protection. The lock will very quickly sieze-up if it is not operated regularly.

pps I think the fuse for opening the boot lock remotely is located in the boot fuse box. That's why I had to break into mine. Had problems with my ignition controller. Could remedy the fault by disconnecting the battery earth connection and reconnect after a minute or two.

Hello and welcome,,so true what you have said,, you can buy a little plastic insert now to put in all of the unused key holes
