At least if it goes into Mercedes they will fix it in one visit! Not the cheapest but sometimes it's best.

And depending on the age of the car you may be able to negotiate that rate down a bit. Or at least find a good indie who knows the cars. Mine has a labour rate of 57+vat

I have serviced all my cars at a Bosch service centre for the last 3 years - Top Gear Mountsorrel in Leicestershire. Although I'm not sure they were a Bosch service centre when I first started using them.

Apart from my father thinking that the Bosch are the enemy from two world wars, I have been pretty happy with them. They have the right diagnostic equipment and have well trained guys who seem to care about a job well done. I have questioned on here before now their diagnostics and they have always come up with a job well done at a fair price.

Labour rate is still £45 an hour which I think is pretty reasonable.

I think you can judge a good garage by how busy they are and these guys are always busy and are always recruiting - they are not short of custom.

They are also a gearbox specialist.

Their website is www.topgear.uk.com if you are interested in checking them out. I don't get commission BTW but I have never had the need to question their work after they have done it. Hopefully all the Bosche service centres are as good.

Most Bosch service centers have better mechanics than MB that use fitters
