Has anyone any thoughts on the best diesel tuning box for a CLK 220CDi?

Brabus, never answered my e-mail enquiry and costs £1200 - £1500

Carllson, around £900

Kleemann, around £420

All claim similiar HP & torque increases, so why the big difference in price?

Kleemann UK have also been very helpful and sent all the info I asked for before deciding on purchase. I should have added the units BlackC55 has mentioned into the equation, but I always thought rightly or wrongly that they were generic units which would fit a variety of diesels, I assumed the three I named, because of the tuning connections with Mercedes would be built specifically for my model. Maybe not though, maybe they just stick their name on someone elses unit and inflate the price?

Hello

If you go for a tuining box, when you sell the car you can sell the box seperatly getting probably half back compared to a re map. Also you can un plug it for servicing (if your bothered).

Have you an insurance quote for having one fitted? I had one (don't laugh) on a freelander sport TD4... did very well and was extra £50 yr on premium well worth it.

Cheers

Car is still under warranty, tuning box is easily unplugged for servicing, resale if changing car etc, remap isn't.

Waiting on insurance phoning me back, they said they had to pass the details onto the underwriters before quoting, wanted to know everything about the box, so i just gave them the website to get the info for themselves.
