Has anyone got experience of these? My latest service/maintenance (which I've got to say was a very nice experience despite the landslide of costs, Kudos to Tony Purslow in Guildford, beat the pants off my Greenoaks of Ascot experience) invoice has a line about it a the top.

Doing a quick web search it's a computer overload module that increases torque (guess it remaps the gears) at low revs and generally tries to improve fuel consumption and lower emmissions.

Given that those two goals are pretty diametric it screams SNAKE OIL to me, but I could be wrong. I'm always in the market for something that makes my car more economic, I'm not a 34 year old driving a E320 estate for nothing!

I have been looking at these too... Not that cheap, but it seems the only one that is approved by MB and does not affect warranty, provided car has less than 18,000 miles prior to fitting. Bound to adversely affect engine longevity, but I probably won't have to worry about that. Tempted...

18,000? Oh dear, my W210 has 109,000 - am I barking up the wrong tree? How much are they? All I noticed is that they've got a 3 year warranty with them.

Haha - Just seen a price, €1290 - please stop, my sides are hurting. That to save an estimated 2 MPG. OK, so some extra top gear power too, but still...

all kits do the same - increase fueling at certain points. Whether they save mpg is all down to whether you keep the revs down and use the extra torque. Easy enough on a manual but a tall order on an auto.
Lots of kits on the market - and most a lot cheaper than the Brabus one, though admittedly not designed with MBs help so probably a few % weaker.
Only bother if you want more power - There are better ways to improve mpg. (maintenance, smoother driving etc)
