Brake backing plate MOT question .

Hi folks ,
I have both cars coming up with MOT tests next months so some minor work to do on both cars (when I’ve finished a bathroom refurb first)
Does a rusting , falling apart brake back plate on the front of the CLK mean an MOT failure or advisory ? It’s missing some bits in the outer edge but doesn’t touch or affect the brake disc at all.

Only an issue on the back where it holds the parking brake mechanism together... welded mine up as the springs had pulled out of the holes

You will need to get it fixed for next years mot advisory only Tell tester guy you have some on order and will get them on for next mot. Or get a pair and put them in the boot . Some cars the dust shields are missing through rust ./

Fronts will pass rears ??? depends if only the outer edge then ok.

Thanks folks , I’ll probably order a couple for my stocks . I just didn‘t want to knock the front discs off as they have loads of life left in them .

Also a way to do it without removing all the discs and calipers etc. But right way is
