Brake Backing Plate

ML320CDI+E350Bluetec Night Edition Estate
Hi I have a ML320 W164 and the rear brake backing plates have rusted so need replacing, Is there a quick way to do or do I have to press out the wheel carrier. Thanks for any advice.
