I’m confused about correct replacement discs and pads for the front of my 2007 E320cdi. I contacted Mercedes Newcastle via their ebay store with my VIN and the pads and discs they’ve supplied don’t match those on the car. These are the ones they have supplied - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-...=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

Part numbers, discs - A211421081264, pads A004420872041.

But these discs are 295 mm diameter and mine are 312mm and my pads are almost rectangular with 2 lugs with holes for the 2 retaining pins, not the elongated shape of these - see photo. Now if I go onto ECPs website for my registration number they list 2 choices, with and without AMG sport pack. The standard disc they list is 312mm, they don’t even list a 295mm disc. The sport disc they list is 330mm. When it comes to pads they show the 2 types, but here’s the confusing part they list the pads I have as for the sport AMG pack brakes, so this would suggest they go with 330mm discs not the 312mm I have. If it helps the car is an Elegance with standard 16” wheels. The brake callipers are a fixed 4 pot design.

So do have a bit of a Frankenstein where a previous owner possibly just fitted the better 4 pot callipers rather then the 2 pot sliding ones, or was this a Mercedes fitted option?

More than one type of brake system was used on your car . Also how do you know that the brake system ie calipers and discs are original ..Owner before you might have upgrade them ...I think your talking about Benz of Newcastle Ebay shop . I would not think they would get them wrong if you told them the vin number ... The check shows disc are right @295MM Diam but brake pads are wrong. vin number would help to be sure .

Or the previous owner changed the discs, pads, calipers to look bigger ? Hard to believe that MB would provide the wrong stuff /(especially if they have double checked )

I have looked at Febi and Apec application lists. I can find 295, 312 and 330 discs. 330 is shown as the AMG/Sport option. As the OP points out the pads he has are also the AMG/Sport option but seemingly he has the middle size disc.

Going to take some head scratching to see if he has a mismatch in caliper/pad to disc which happens to work but isn't correct.

Perhaps you can contact the PO and ask them if anything was changed to non stock. Perhaps his original calipers died and he decided it was a good idea to ahem upgrade.

As above, MB rarely is ever supply the wrong pn based on the vin as the pn are then also option specific based on the vin.

good luck.

Put your VIN number in here or use the tabs to select your model and you should get the full options.
Tried that link, but when going to brake section just got some red html code and sql error. Did find and use this one though - http://www.catcar.info/mercedes/?la...ycG51bT09NDJ8fHN1YmdycD09MDMwfHxwYWdlNzA9PS0x

This link shows part details using my VIN, which is WDB211222B270881 with discs being A2114210192, which doing a bit of searching shows these to be 312mm which tallies with those on the car. The pads are shown as A0064203220, which again are the same as those on my car, so seems an unofficial MB parts catalogue can correctly identify parts.

I've just had the same issues ordering disc's and pads for the SLK, though just the front disc's were wrong as they were for a AMG line sport package. I guess I should have read the entire ad  Glad to say that the correct disc's were £20 lease :)

@ Dreamer no2 - yes, they could have been changed by PO as I mentioned in my original post and it was Mercedes Benz of Newcastle. VIN as above - WDB211222B270881, but as above post the info on catcar suggests mine are correct and original.

@ Wighty - you would hope they’d get things right, but I have had issues in the past with parts from other MB dealers with my previous SL where the catalogue had brake and front suspension system incorrect. Mine was a 2000 year and had ESP, which their catalogue said it didn’t.

@ Doverunner - see post above - have found and used an MB online catalogue and for my VIN it agrees with what’s on my car and not what MB have supplied, so some head scratching maybe, but as to why MB parts catalogue incorrect?

@mioba - not possible to contact previous owner, but as above MB do make mistakes in their catalogue and online catcar catalogue would seem to suggest what I have on the car is correct and original.

Will need to speak to Mercedes of Newcastle to see what can be sorted, but might need to get some locally tomorrow if I can as have about 3000 miles to drive over next two weeks and they need doing.

AM ck the part number for brake disc [front ] is A2304210812 this is all most models exept one = A2304210912 that is Japan and Australia models only . Go check them out on 7 Zap.com i found 6 types of calipers and pads to fit them its a needle in a haystack the only way you will beat this is to take your old parts that you have removed to the dealers and match them there. good luck

I have spoken to my local MB dealer today with my VIN they stated there was only 1 set of pads and discs listed and confirmed the part numbers are not the ones Mercedes of Newcastle have sent, but are the ones catcar.info have given me (discs A2114210912 and pads A0064203220). Unfortunately they’ve also said the pads are currently on back order with Germany

I tried that website again and worked today. Using my VIN the results are as shown in photo. Now I read that as the A2114210812 is the one for Japan, Australia and USA, with the one you quote A2304210812 is for Sport package only, so these will be the 330mm drilled discs. I read it as the standard disc is A2114210912, which is now what I’ve also been quoted as correct by my local dealer. D74FC1C6-A75D-482F-9CDC-4B013337B761.png

Glad the info is coming together. I always give any new to me used car a major service in its first days/weeks here and part of that is to take info for future needs. I always measure the brake disc diameter and the length of the pads (most suppliers listings give a pad dimension and often just the length is enough to ID which pad you have) with a rough drawing of the pad shape... time and again this has helped with a parts order. Stressful though when a supplier says you need different to what you know is fitted.
