Brake Discs

Not sure if this has been answered. I’m about as new as you can get on here. My front brake discs need changing. Why are the fronts more expensive than rear discs?

They are larger

Generally they are bigger in size.

I don't know specifically for you car ... that why I said 'usually'

Bigger, vented and may also be perforated or grooved

They are also thicker than rear discs, 36mm v 26mm

Why is a bag of chips more expensive than a 5lb bag of spuds ?

generally due to the size. more metal - more cost.

They may be vented/perforated/grooved depending on the manufacturer.
Dont skimp.

They are made of cheesium with pads made by Jacobs.

The fronts also do most of the braking
