My car's just had the mot, which it passed thankfully but theres a note on there that the front discs are pitted just within the mot limits.

Any idea how much new discs are and also i was considering the performance type dics and pads, i tend to give my car a blast when i get the opportunities and although i dont throw it into corners (not sure how well it'd go round them!) i was thinking it might not be a bad idea to get some decent discs and pads, or are they a waste of money?

Standard discs and pads are ok for the job i would have thought unless you are really giving it beans !! Try eurocar parts they are pretty good on price.

keep the car as it is, and nothing wrong with those brakes, check the MB price against TMD friction parts sold at places like GSF and euro car parts

I'll check out eurocarparts, Is it worth replacing the rear ones aswell? I know the majority of breaking is done on the front but just wondered if discs are something that should be changed all round at the same time?

The rear disc normally out live 2 to 3 fronts, if they are not worn or too rusty why change them

I have just fitter new discs all around from Euro Car parts. GSF were doing the Brembo discs for £40 each + VAT but Euro sorted out the ATE (MB OE part) for £35/each +VAT

pads were ATE as well for £38+VAT for the pair so all in you are looking at around £120+ for new discs and pads. If I remember correctly GSF quoted me around £140 for Brembo parts.

I found that the Eurocar disks caused a bit of vibration under braking which doesn't happen with the proper Merc ones.

Change the pads at the same time.

I have had mine for around a month now and not have no problems so far. Maybe you had experience with another brand from Euro as they do carry around 4 different type of discs
