Brake Light Switch

Hi - Can anyone give me some information. I have a E300D 1995 the last of the W124 models. Having read several threads I have purchased a new brake light switch ,which I hope may cure the fact my cruise control hasn't worked for just over a year. I have changed the ECU amplifer without any sucess regarding the Cruise so I am aware of removing the lower facia panel in the drivers footwell. Can any one assist in the actual location and removal of old switch and fitting of new brake light switch and the difficulty of doing this. Many thanks

Cruise control does not work after replacing control unit.

Cure; ground jumper in 14 pin control unit connector from socket 12 to socket 14

Remidy; Remove ground jumper from socket 12 to socket 14. connect ground lines or ground line to socket 12 socket 14 is no longer used.

Malcolm - Thanks for your prompt reply and suggestion. The oiginal ECU amplifier on the veicle was 014 545 40 32. This was working fine until Christmas 2004. I have attempted to replace it with ECU with part no
005 545 05 32 but no difference (Replacemnt part was from Dronsfield via Partsgateway) Unfortunatley I didn't fit within the warrenty period but am not sure it was the ECU causing he problem. Does your suggestion hold fire for the two amps above regarding a change of wiring. I have changed the stop light switch again to no avail. Other than the ECU amp I can only assume it could be the actuator. Any thoughts / advice would be appreciated.
