The brake lights on my 1975 230 are out of action, which I suspect may be due to the cut cables than run off the brake fluid reservoir. Presumably there are some kind of sensors built in to the reservoir that trigger the lights. I imagine the cables were cut due to malfunctioning of the hypothetical sensors. Does anyone have experience of these devices? I'll try to find a replacement reservoir, or the relevant components, before reconnecting the cables, unless anyone can recommend how to get the old ones working again...Perhaps some disassembly, cleaning, or tweaking could get them back up on their feet again... Any tips appreciated!

I may be wrong on this one,but wires on the reservoir are only warning lamps for fluid level and nothing to do with stop lights. The brake light switch is under the brake pedal, thats the way it was on the one I had.
