So in the Edinburgh Mercedes eBay Shop, they had brake pads for a W213, so I messaged them to check they were ok for an All-terrain (giving them my reg number for reference) and they sent back a different like to pads that look quite different, and are listed as for a GLC. Having googled, there does seem to be more that one pattern for the W213 pads, so has anyone come across this before where they are shared across different models?
I would hope from the reg no MB can get the correct part so they are probably right, and there are often common parts across models, it's just not something I've come across before with brakes.

Not only different models but different brands use the same pad as they all buy calipers from the same companies such as TRW

25 years ago I bought some break pads from Halfords for a Renault Clio, using their parts book reference number.
They didn't fit, took them back to find the reference book was wrong.

I would always supply the dealer with the VIN. If your vehicle comes with optional brake pack then it might not be so apparent from the registration number alone.
You'll find pads and discs used in multiple cars - it saves on costs for manufacture.
