Brake wear

My car is currently up for a B services, there a some other things that are required, but one is the brakes. I am needing front pads and disks, they were last done 3 years ago and 22k miles. Does this sound about right, or am I driving like a tw@t?

Prices for these has gone up, front set is now just over £500. but more than the £340 3 years ago!!

Normally 2 sets of pads to disc ratio , if they were both replaced at the same time then it maybe just the pads that need changed.

Has the brake pad wear indicator been activated and have the discs been measured properly ?

Is it the main dealer or your local garage that is telling you they both need replaced ?

The main dealer a few years ago told me my front discs needed changing at 40k miles . As a treat at 100k I finally changed them .

Similar to my car. They quoted over £500 ..... 4 yrs on & 30+ thousand miles later I'm still on the same discs

Hi, sorry for the late response, 5 mins after this post my sister rang and told me she had found my dad dead at home. We had only spoke to him 45 mins earlier, right as rain.

My brakes seem very insigincant now!

Anyway, quote was for oem, spoke to them about this, all good. They are a specialist who I have used for 5 years, who have been really good over the years.
Ss I had to get to north London and my car was not ready u till friday pm, they were more than happy for me to go and return when I can.

Life goes on...
