- 2002 clk 230 Kompressor
Hi everyone and thank you for accepting me into the forum.
My name is David, I'm from Gold Coast Australia and have just bought my first Mercedes, I actually bought it for my son as his first car.
I have a 2002 Mercedes CLK 230 Kompressor coupe.
When I bought it it had numerous issues that I have been working through, but there is one I am struggling with.
When you first drive the car each day everything seems normal, no warning light on the dash, everything feels as it should.
But..
Randomly the drivers side front wheel will lock up for a second or two, then release and then the ESP/ABS light will come on. Once that has happened once it doesn't do it again until you stop the car, turn it off then start it again and drive it.
Yes this sounds dangerous and it is quite scary when it happens on the motorway when you are doing 110Kph, and even scarier if it is raining.
It is only ever the front drivers (RHS) shell that does it.
I have she led the brake calipers, I have checked the front wheel speed sensors (no physical damage, tried to put a multimeter on it but not quite sure what it should be reading) I have also cleaned the speed sensor toothed collar which was full of grease and brake residue.
Has anyone experienced this before?
