Brand new A180 Sport Exec.

Used twice. Twice its directed me to an area about a mile away from where the actual postcode is.

Its so bad that you can't rely on it - better to use google maps on your phone.

Surely Mercedes can't make a sat nav that bad?

Is it to an address of new houses where they haven't been updated on the systems yet ? Or middle of a long road ?

That's funny, my son in-law has exactly that car and his reaction was that it was very good, only to be surpassed by his Tom-Tom which he now doesn't use

A postcode destination will deliver you to anywhere within that postcode, try using the full address and not just generic postcodes.

In my (long) experience with sat navs (starting with navman software on palm pilots) they will always get you to your destination but almost never the best way.

Mercedes until quite recently didn’t have 7 digit postcodes which was a regular source of annoyance on the forum.

I check where I’m going before setting off, I’ll look at where it is on a map (electronic theses days) and then check the sat nav that the location is the same. If not I’ll use the navigate by map option and put the cursor on where I should be going.

Only issue I have is my sat nav lady doesn’t always stay muted after I’ve pressed the button but that’s a very small annoyance. (Which maybe solved with a software upgrade)

Sounds fairly typical of the female population in general ;)

Yes but a full postcode is normally a pretty small area. Especially in a build up area- not a mile away.

Yes I read that about merc sat nav. hmmmmm.

For me its almost as if its only using the first part of the postcode. i.e. CF10 8 say which would be a large area and directing me to the center of it.
