Ive seen some pretty awful weather reports on the internet relating to uk, floods, high winds. How are your cars fairing in all this. PS its about 18 deg here

The weather reports are actually a clever ploy by HM govermnet to discourage immigration!
Actually the british climate is sub tropical and we normally travel from the UK to Spain the summer to escape the opressive heat.
So, my aircon is holding up well!

Lets be honest, in a storm battering down a motorway at 80mph, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be than my merc, and if it were icy, the ESP copes really well (or so I'm told!).

I have just driven up to Carlisle and whilst it was ~3'C all the way up it was a bright and sunny day and a really nice drive. I was expecting wet salt spray and icy roads but not a bit of it :)

I'm sure I recognise that road from days gone by and when heading up north of the border.

Here in South Wales the ground was beginning to freeze about an our ago and the water troughs had about 1/8" layer of ice over the tops. Newspapers appearing on windscreens already. I reckon tomorrow will be a 'read litter' day on the streets. ;)

eric, we had about 2 inches of snow in the South East of England today. This means schools are closed and there is chaos on public transport. oddly the roads seem to be working quite well. I'll post some pictures when I get round to uploading them

It was sooooo exciting to wake up this morning, look out the window and see a couple of inches of snow covering everything. I hope we get lots more :)

I was out in the front garden with my 7 year old at 07:30 building a snowman. It wasn't the alarm that woke me up this morning, it was my son bouncing up and down on the bed pointing out of the window. What a wonderful way to wake up.:D

Ditto for South Wales but it is blooming freezing-the-eggs-in-the-chickens'-nest-boxes COLD! The last was a three-dog night for sure! (But I only had room for two to share mine!)

Black ice in places on the B roads around here earlier on and I never heard the gritter out and about.

Anyone else notice when listening to the news this morning that the whole country was having travel difficulties because of snow. To the best of my knowledge the snow was concentrated in the South East of the country and everywhere else was fine.
