The single blade 'extender' type windcreen wiper on my C180 stopped going in and out and going out of sync.
Garage said broken gearbox, that'll be £390 + labour for replacement!!!!! I was upset
I stripped it down and the fibre planet gear driving the cam arm was slipping on its shaft. I drilled a 2mm hole between the gear teeth and pinned it. It's now working perfectly!!!!! I am very happy. Mend cost £1.06 for drill. I imagine most diagnosed faulty gearboxes are down to this problem as it's the weakest part of the mechanism.
