Nice one. I once saw a model LR 109 for sale with a similar description it has to be worth it just for the comedy value.

WOW its got a Mercedes rubber mat too !

I am very interested in that bracket lurking in the back too.
I once bought a Honda Integra and there was a bracket in the boot of the car that rattled about when turning corners at speed. I was terrified to lose this bracket in case it was something essential for the car. I asked family friends and even mechanics about it, none knew what it was or what it was for.
When the nice lady that drove into the side of me at very high speed and wrote the Integra off ( I loved that car ) the car ended up at a scrapdealers and I went to clear my personal effects from it a few days later, getting my tools from the boot etc. The bracket was gone !! I light heartedly asked the guy where my bracket had gone from the boot. Before I could tell him it didnt matter really, he was away asking his staff. He returned all apologies saying one of the lads had threw it in a skip full of scrap and it was now gone. Would £10 cover the costs of replacing it?

Yep I took the tenner:Oops:

lol hilarious !

i thought those discoverys were aluminium ??? so how is it rusting ?

and heres a quote from the 'ad'

The vehicle is fitted with a set of black and white furry dice so they should bring another fiver on top of the auction price.

Another thing that comes with the vehicle are 3 yes 3 original Landrover rubber floor matts and a 4th rubber matt that is mercedes these must be worth abit extra.

heh :)

Very clever advert.
The negative description always brings out the weirdos.
A local chap to me just did the same with and old VW Polo.
The car was on it's last legs and probably worth about £50.
Because of press coverage, he ended up with about £600, which he donated to charity. Good guy!

Most of the outer body panels are aluminium ( Birmabright or something its called) I think some of the bonnet and tailgate are steel, but aluminium corrodes when in contact with other metals, then turns into a white powder. The boot floors rust, as do the inner wings, floor and chassis ( eventually)

its funny,
if you read the sellers feedback its obviously the second time he sold it on ebay, the first buyer left him negative - so he prbably gave a refund and relisted the car again.

Birmabright an alloy of Aluminmium and magnesium used for the bodies on the Defenders and previous. The 1st Disco's were steel body and birmabright roof/bonnet the later ones steel body & roof and birmabright bonnet and rear quarter panels the Disco 3 is a steel bodyshell without a seperate ladder frame chassis with aluminium bonnet and tailgate.

Galvanic corrosion = electricity direct current produced chemically

Electrolysis = chemical decomposition where to dissimilar metals meet.

You are both right, it depends on the application, it is all to do with the voltage tables of when to dissimilar metals meet.
