I have a 1988 W124 260E and I'd like to fit one of these LED based third brake lights.  The installation is simple enough, sticky pads, cable routing and stuff, but the instructions say that if your car has a bulb monitor system you need to clip onto the brake light AFTER the feed to the system.
I know the W124 has a bulb monitor system, does it work on the brake lights? Should I just tap into the brake light control on it's exit from the rear light cluster??
Thanks
Rob

Bulb Monitor System and Brake Lights

Normally bulb monitors work on all lights, including the brakes. i would just tap into the wire as it comes out of the rear light cluster and see how the monitor copes with it. It can always be removed (the new brake light i mean) if necessary.

cheers

Bulb Monitor System and Brake Lights

When wiring tow bars onto vehicles with bulb failure warning, you need to conect after the device, this should work ok with your add on brake light.
