i take it that this is a joke - but ill bite anyway.

no - bulb is a std indicator bulb - if you have clear indicator lenses then the bulb will be yellow, not clear.

open bonnet, feel behind indicator, theres a large 'nut' with a wire going to it. undo this a quater turn, holder then comes out with bulb attached. pop bulb out and repalce...

SL,
I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with Guy. You do need a special left hand side bulb. Also, these bulbs are elevation dependant. You will need one appropriate to the elevation above sea level that your car generally travels. This is due to the differing air density and the effect this has on the way the light is refracted away from the filament.
Also, very important, never change the bulb on a Tuesday, or when there is a full moon as the gravitational shifts can cause the bulb to fail prematurely. The cost is quite reasonable given the complications and you should get away with little more than £750 plus, of course, the diagnostic charge.

By the way, I though we'd agreed to put 'fun' after the description. :)

Removing the wing is tricky as it's difficult to line up the panel correctly afterwards. I'd take a sharp chisel and cut the metal neatly, about 2 inches behind the headlight. A square of about 4 inches should do it and allow easy access. After you've changed the bulb, you can reattach the removed metal using a piano hinge and slide bolt. This way you'll have easy access next time the bulb goes.

Hang on a minute. I have fitted the high sun spot activity bulbs...will they work during the winter months when the sun only just gets above the horizon?

New to Mercedes Benz ownership are you?
You must have surely noticed that indicators are never used by the true Mercedes cognoscenti.
Bona fide Benz owners would never even admit to knowing a bulb has blown anyway!
Drivers of lesser cars expect expect no more. In fact seeing a Mercedes with its indicator flashing is indicative of the fact that it's probably stolen.
Hazard flashers are another matter however, and need to be maintained meticulously - otherwise you may find that you have to pay to park alongside the hoi polloi (in their Fords and Peugeots) in public car parks.
With the four orange lights flashing and an appropriate three pointed star on the bonnet - no traffic warden will ever issue a ticket. They're not allowed to, as one of the reasons these cars are so expensive in the first place is because the manufacturer pays all these fines in advance to the government.
Happy motoring!

This all seems a lot of work to go to. If you have a towbar fitted and trailer socket .Why not buy a trailer light board and tie strap it to front bumper.Remember to remove stop and tail bulbs. And fit it upside down.Hope this helps

surely that mobilo life thingy whats last forever will replace the bulb as it shouldnt have failed in the first place??? ring everyone up with a phone and see if anyone helps!!!

or perhaps you could not turn in the direction of the allegedly failed bulb thus avoiding any indication issues arising from this.

I find wearing a baseball cap helps too.

You are taking the **** out of yourself asking stupid questions of course these bulbs are sided if they were not sided and you turned the indicators on you wouldn?t want the drivers side front coming on along with the passenger side rear. So that is why the indicator bulbs are sided, Under no circumstances mix these bulb about when fitting them make sure the ones marked R goes in the right hand side of vehicle.
