Hi

So I'm hoping to shift my current car and get myself in to a 43 or 63 AMG.

Two things that I want in the spec are the AMG Performance Exhaust and the
Burmester stereo.

But there's a lot of cars with one and not the other.

I think the exhaust is pretty much non-negotiable for me.

So, is there much of a difference between the standard stereo and the Burmester...... or perhaps I should ask is the standard system ok or really crap. I hope to be listening to the V6/8 most of the the time anyway

I checked out a couple of YouTube clips and yeah it's not as good as the V8 so that's why I'm hoping to pick up a 63.

But is the standard stereo muck?

There's very few 63's available near me so I'd like to have a good idea before I travel to view........

I’ve never had a rubbish basic system in any MB that I have owned. Have HK in one and standard in all the others, they sounded fine to me. “Pardon!!!”
If it is the exhaust tune you prefer get a 63 with good history, good options and enjoy listening to a standard music system when you are bored with the engine soundtrack.

surely the silly exhaust would negate any benefit of a better stereo?

the amount of drug dealers near me with these childish exhaust systems is really irritating...… its bad enough the police encourage the drug dealing (along with the burglary, misery and downfall of society it brings), but the double whammy of having to suffer the pathetic farting and party popper banging as these hoodies make drop offs any time of day and night is unacceptable.... you just wait to hear the kid scream as they are run over or the crash as the car comes in someone's living room.

I'll delete the post. I'd hate to think it caused you to have a meltdown

my current car (e400) has Burmeister and it's an amazing upgrade and i wouldn't go back, my previous car (E220d) had the standard sound system, and it was good, but it just lacked real bass and thumping audio if that's what you like (i like it),

good luck with the E63, would love one myself.... someday.

in the right situation a good exhaust note is OK, but the outrageous joke fitted on many high end cars now doesn't sound good, is totally antisocial and is mostly noise for the sake of noise.

Funny for 40 years a nice exhaust on one or two motorcycles was seen as the devils spawn, with silencing mandatory on pain of death. Now every other car makes 10 times as much noise and as they are still so dreadfully slow the noise lingers for twice as long.

Why a car driver wants the stress and irritation of a tiring exhaust on a daily driver I don't know.

Back to the main point, most cars improve 1 or 2 hundred percent just fitting an amp that can control what's going on and make a good stab at creating the sound the source is producing
